Two years ago pianist Joost Swart and bassist Floris Vermeulen were commissioned by Midnight Express to expand on Bitches Brew, Miles Davis' famous double album. The combination of Swart's unique touch on the Fender Rhodes and the rhythm tandem Vermeulen/Arling worked wonders, and by now we are in episode four of the project. Special guests are Brazilian spoken word vocalist Luanda Casella and turntable-wiz Grazzhoppa. Former Groningen trumpeter George Pancraz, who had been excelling in the ranks of the Willem Breuker Kollektief for quite a while, can play with a hip pair of Miles sunglasses.
