South-African born saxophonist Sean Bergin has been stationed in the Netherlands for over 35 years. He came to Amsterdam by way of London, and played a key role in introducing warm blooded kwela music to the repertoire of the ICP Orchestra and Maiden Voyage. His inspiring attitude has also left its marks in other bands than his own My Own Band (MOB). Ever since the very first MOB album Kids Mysteries (1986) Bergin has been working with Alex Maguire. The British pianist was featured in previous cycle tour editions with Elton Dean and Hatflied and the North. These two gentlemen are well matched, to say the least.
