BRASS UNBOUND
The edgy rhythms and staccato guitar and vocal parts are still typical for The Ex, which started as a punk band in 1979. The band likes to immerse itself in Ethiopian music and has always kept warm contacts with musicians from the modern freejazz scene. In the Netherlands they work with Han Bennink, Ab Baars and other members of the Instant Composers Pool. For Brass Unbound The Ex is augmented by international stars, resulting in a grand spectacle. They opted for the heaviest horn section one could possibly imagine.
